The First Thursdays Art Bus Tour

All aboard the Art Bus! Coming to a request stop near you every first Thursday of the month. Well…one outside the Whitechapel Gallery anyway. Not too far off the track if you’re a Londoner and if you’re an East Ender even more convenient. The bottom line is any true art lover from anywhere in the capital will be chomping at the bit to board the Big Red Bus.

The Whitechapel Gallery runs the tour with stop offs at galleries all over the East End with artists and curators on hand to enlighten visitors about the exhibitions. This month it kicked off at 7.00pm with scheduled stops at the Leyden Gallery (7.05pm), Ginger White Gallery, Bethnal Green (7.45pm) and Old Truman Brewery, Shoreditch (8.50pm). The tour ends at 9.00pm.

First Thursday is a biggie in the art calendar beyond the Whitechapel as East London’s 150 galleries work together on special late openings where the private views, guest speakers, launches, workshops and artist studio sessions are packaged with the discerning art lover in mind. Bearing in mind the East End has the biggest concentration of galleries in the capital, you are going to be spoilt for choice.

The tickets for the First Thursdays Art Bus Tour are £9.50/£7.50 concs.
