Derek Bates held a reading of his second novel Shadows in the Wall at Daunt Books, Hampstead with a Q & A and open discussion about whether capitalist democracy is truly representational. His book touches upon this theme with lead character journalist Jake Dearsey picking up on the ghostly murmurs of political and religious intrigue from centuries past after he moves into a mysterious new house.
